Dental Care Without Fear Thanks to Sedation Dentistry
Many people avoid the dentist and do not seek out treatments they need out of fear or anxiety. Dental fear is a very real concern for many people, and when oral problems are left untreated, they compound and get worse—oftentimes affecting other areas of the mouth or body as a whole. At Advanced Dentistry, we know how important receiving timely and effective dental care is, so we offer sedation dentistry options to help ease anxiety and allow patients to receive the care they need and deserve. We offer varying levels of sedation to fit your needs and desires.
SEDATION OPTIONS AVAILABLE IN OUR OFFICE
Local AnestheticApplied directly to the treatment site, local anesthetic will numb the area being treated. This blocks most sensations of pain and you may only feel a slight pressure during most procedures.
Nitrous OxideCommonly referred to as laughing gas, this form of sedation is administered via a mask worn during treatment. It is fast acting and the effects can be felt almost immediately, relaxing the patient to allow for easy treatment.
Oral SedationAdministered via oral capsules taken before treatment begins, this sedation puts a patient into a sleepy state. Many times, patients may not even remember their treatment, giving them a feeling of amnesia.
IV SedationOften considered the strongest form of sedation, this will likely put a patient to sleep during treatment, but they are easily woken up to respond to commands. We bring in an experienced anesthesiologist to perform IV sedation and monitor you during the entire process, so you are completely safe and effectively sedated.
Safe, Effective Sedation
Sedation dentistry oftentimes changes a person’s dental experience as a whole, to one that is much more positive and healthy. When you no longer have anything to fear from the dentist, you are able to receive the treatments that you need in a more timely manner. During each sedation appointment, your blood pressure, pulse and oxygen saturation levels are continually monitored to ensure that you are always in a safe state. Dr. Varghese John is DOCS certified in conscious sedation and is a member of the Master Dentist Academy, so you can rely on his experienced care.
