Treat Tooth Pain with Gentle Root Canal Therapy From Dr. John
If you are experiencing chronic tooth pain, you may be suffering from a tooth infection. Tooth infection is caused by severe decay that has created an opening in the tooth enamel and allowed bacteria to infect the center of the tooth (the pulp). When a tooth is infected, the most ideal treatment is a root canal. Contrary to popular belief, receiving a root canal is usually a gentle, routine procedure that is aimed at relieving tooth pain and removing infection. We offer quick and effective root canal therapy to restore your smile to optimum health.
Are You in Need of a Root Canal?
Common symptoms of a root canal include:
- Tooth pain
- Sensitivity to hot or cold beverages
- Discomfort when chewing
- Discolored tooth
- Swollen lymph nodes
- Recurring fever
- Pus or an abscess forming
Root Canal Process
When performing a root canal, Dr. Varghese John approaches the treatment in as minimally invasive a manner as possible. We offer sedation options to help calm your anxiety and with local anesthetic, can block most sensation of pain. We will then make a small opening in the crown of your tooth to access the decay and infected pulp inside. Next, we clear away areas of decay and remove the infected pulp inside your tooth.
A biocompatible material called gutta-percha is used to fill the cleaned-out pulp chamber and restore structure to your tooth. A state-of-the-art dental lab will construct a lifelike dental crown for your tooth. This crown will match your surrounding teeth, protect the damaged tooth, and provide function again. After treatment, you should not experience any further pain from the affected tooth.
Seek Treatment Right Away
SeekWe encourage anyone who is experiencing mouth or tooth pain to seek a consultation right away. The longer treatment is delayed, the more serious the damage could be. Ignoring an infected tooth completely could result in the loss of that tooth and even the spread of infection to other teeth or parts of the body. At Advanced Dentistry, we are trained and experienced in performing this endodontic treatment with the skill and care you deserve. Dr. John received extensive training at Mount Vernon Hospital and Northwick Park Hospital in Middlesex, England as well as obtaining his DMD degree from the University of the East College of Dentistry in Manila, Philippines. He has been practicing dentistry for over 21 years and is a member of the Master Dentist Academy.
